Around 100 Tons of Trash Transported from Connecting Channel

Cleanliness Management Unit (UPK) of Jakarta Environment Dept. Water Division transported around 100 tons of trash which clogged connecting channels (PHB) in five City areas every day.
At least, around 75-80 percent of trash in connecting channels can be handled by us
Jakarta Environment Dept. Water Division Cleanliness Management Unit (UPK) Head, Junjungan Sihombing said until this March they already handled trash problem in 760 of 1,119 connecting channels which spread in five City areas.
"At least, around 75-80 percent of trash in connecting channels can be handled by us," he said, Thursday (3/30).
Residents Request to Normalize Taruna PHB ChannelHe added that besides connecting channel, his side also handled trash problem in 13 rivers and 2 flood canals.
"It is estimated around 90 percent of trash in river flow has been handled," he added.
He explained his side has 400 personnel to handle the trash in river and connecting channel. They were divided into dozens of trash divider points and another prone areas.
"Cleaning will be done continuously. For untouched points, we will finish it gradually," he closed.
